For tomorrow nights Chess match at home against Cannock (2 July 2013), Brewood Chess club have been given an opportunity to play the games at the clubhouse using liveboards. These boards, which belong to the English Chess Federation are used with the top matches, and will be used at an international congress being held next month.
During a game, a lead is connected from the side of the board to a computer, which then records players moves. Although not being used for this match, there is also the option for games played using these boards to display live over the internet. If anyone wants to see such equipment in use they are welcome to come along, starting at 7.3opm, to the club. The address is:
Brewood Chess Circle
St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Hall,
This is an historic first game for the club, and this may be the first step towards broadcasting games live in the intetnet in the future. More information about the club can also be found on the clubs website: www.brewoodchess.webs.com
