Brewood Singers keep on celebrating....

Monday, 01 July, 2013 - Modified on Monday, 01 July, 2013 at 1:28 pm

A highlight of Brewood Singers' celebratory year – the group of now 30 men and women was founded exactly 40 years ago – will be a joint concert with the Jackfield Elcock Reisen Brass Band from Shropshire.  Commencing at 7.30, this special concert takes place on Saturday 6th July in St Mary and St Chad Parish church in the village of Brewood.

Featuring many of the Singers' favourite music, such as 'You raise me up' and 'Bridge over troubled waters',  they will also be performing Musical Director David Brookes' own composition,  'Let us celebrate in song', composed to celebrate this special anniversary year.

The award winning Championship Band, Jackfield Elcock Reisen Brass Band, will be the Singers' guests for the evening, and will be featuring some music sure to raise the roof off the church, including the Dam Busters March, a James Bond tribute and the rousing 1812 Overture.

More information is available at www.brewoodsingers.co.uk  and tickets at £8 each are available from the Secretary Pat Mumford on  01902 850377 or on the door.

If you enjoy singing, and would like to join the Brewood Singers, whose membership ranges in age from early 20’s upwards, please contact the Secretary on 01902 850377, or Musical Director, David Brookes at singersbrewood@gmail.com.  They rehearse in the Jubilee Hall, Brewood each Thursday between 8.10pm and 10pm. 'We have a lot of fun, both at our weekly practice at the Jubilee Hall in Brewood, and at performances, said the Secretary, Pat, ‘We all love singing and it’s great to be able to make music together – we are always on the lookout for new voices, and welcome anyone to get in touch if they are interested!  Have a look on the website – it gives more information about what we do at practices, and what it's like to be a member.’
